A Recollection of Our Memories By: Joceline Medina
the wonders of spring
we met in the month of spring, when the lively flowers were blooming. the hummingbirds would sing as the skies would begin glooming.
animals came out to play, to enjoy the fresh, breezy air. on the lush, green grass we lay, as your hands brushed through my glossy hair.
the rain poured down on us, like the tears of a missing child. we ran to catch the bus, with our clothes drenched, hair looking wild.
your precious face turns back at mine, with a joyous smile and gentle eyes. you grab my hand with glee, and tell me i’m in for a surprise.
moments like these are what i adore, i escape reality, in search for much more.
summer love
we thrive in the sun. the sultry air in our lungs. united in hands, in peace we run, blissfully. nowhere to be found, in the heat of the summer.
nostalgia in the fall
hear the leaves crunch, crunch, crunch to the rhythm of my footsteps.
taste the fresh brewed coffee on my smooth lips. smell the sweet scent of my perfume that lingers on your chest.
feel the polished skin on my cheeks against your coarse fingers.
all of which remain remnants of our past and our cherished time together.
snow in the winter
you sat beside me with your sheltered hands in mine. the birds were chirping.
the weather was brisk, the smell of pine in the air. blue and balmy skies.
the pale snow glistened, in the light of the dawn. calm, yet full of life.
we sat in the warmth of the fireplace watching flakes fall, together.
Poetry
Author's Note: I was very inspired to write as the seasons change. I didn't necessarily live the moments I wrote about in my poem, but I happen to adore romance, so I find myself writing about love all the time.
