Her tides are constantly changing Moving this way or that Ensuring the world is her own
The ocean cares nothing of man
Her gentle currents will shift away Turning harsh and cruel in an instant Creating whirlpools of aggression
The ocean cares nothing of man
Her waves will make lungs heavy She renders humanity useless Littering her floor with our bones
The ocean cares nothing of man
Cries will surface as silent bubbles Forever lost in her empty abyss Where she keeps us as her own
Poetry
"I have always felt drawn into the sea, but remained acutely aware of how dangerous a force it was. The natural world that surrounds man has a deadly beauty to it, with dangers always waiting." --Erica Henry from Swabsboro High School
