A Message to the Youth - Majerus Dulberg
“New Year, new me” isn’t that what they say?
Who here truly listens and makes a change? Shoot, we’re doing little to not stay the same, To me, it’s choosing in which way to play life’s game. You’ll always miss the days, When you’d wake, eat and play From the time it’d take to say, “Hey Mom, what did you bake?” Life can feel fast and fake, But it’ll be anything you make. Fall asleep on the couch, And wake up in your bed. And whatever amount, You don’t care what you’ve spent. While trying is one thing, Doing is another. But failure is something That you cry to your mother. All your “Firsts” in life, Can’t get worst, so try. Call men “Sir,” be nice You should learn things right. When you meet that special girl, She’ll become your whole world. And you’ll be overthrown with nerves. . . Just stay calm and alert. I’ve wanted this for awhile And my vision was in style Think, “I’ll miss you, till next time.” Grab your wrists, pull you tight, Then my lids close my eyes As I kiss you goodnight. Await your fate, Until someone relates. Don’t make a change, For one person to stay. Remain the same, With whatever they say. You will change your whole livelihood, Once you’ve finished your childhood. Just enjoy it while you have this. Yes. Enjoy it while you can, kids. |
Majerus comments, "My story’s sorta important, and the depth goes deep as seas. It’s normal but well-worded, so the best you’ll see from me. I rhyme, since I try, and my life is not a lie. So yes each line is all mine, I take pride in my time. The beginning is related to adults' misconception of saying 'New Year New Me' and not changing at all, then fades into a message to children to live life to the fullest and enjoy their childhood while they can."
