Fake Smile

Fake Smile
Another smile, another laugh
Keep going, they don’t notice,
They make jokes and are happy.
They’re happy,
Must be nice,
To feel that.
I’ll put on my mask once again,
Because they can’t see the pain,
They can’t see the struggle.
Another smile, another laugh,
Someone notice...please.
I’m screaming but,
silence.
No one can see, no one can hear.
A fake smile,
A fake laugh.
When will they notice,
When will they see,
When will they care,
When will they understand?
Another smile, another laugh,
I’m fine…
I have to be.
Another smile, another laugh
Keep going, they don’t notice,
They make jokes and are happy.
They’re happy,
Must be nice,
To feel that.
I’ll put on my mask once again,
Because they can’t see the pain,
They can’t see the struggle.
Another smile, another laugh,
Someone notice...please.
I’m screaming but,
silence.
No one can see, no one can hear.
A fake smile,
A fake laugh.
When will they notice,
When will they see,
When will they care,
When will they understand?
Another smile, another laugh,
I’m fine…
I have to be.
Writer's Statement: I have already dealt with depression and having bad days which is where writing came into my life. To me writing is an outlet and an escape from my chaotic mind.
