The Cat
By: Lily Truong
The night was icy but I didn’t mind
The sky was grey with no moon
I lay awake, watching the time
My cat jumped onto my bed and started to groom
As I sat up, my water bottle fell
The cat shook and hissed
I picked up said bottle and didn’t yell
Petting my cat, I gave him a kiss
Once more, I lay down
My blankets fluffy and warm
My cat curling around
The world no longer feeling deformed
I snuggled in bliss
And gave my cat one final kiss
The sky was grey with no moon
I lay awake, watching the time
My cat jumped onto my bed and started to groom
As I sat up, my water bottle fell
The cat shook and hissed
I picked up said bottle and didn’t yell
Petting my cat, I gave him a kiss
Once more, I lay down
My blankets fluffy and warm
My cat curling around
The world no longer feeling deformed
I snuggled in bliss
And gave my cat one final kiss
