Village Air
By: Tanvi Jeph
I sat under a lush green tree
While the sun was ablaze
The dark shadow mimicked the tree
I was having a faint siesta during this scene
The warble of the birds slowly fainted
I was in a stupor, lying on the sun-burned grass
My eyes were partially opened
I saw the clouds chortling alone
This silence couldn’t be experienced in the city
This is the only place that I want to be in
Snoring with the dry, blowing sand
And suspiring the fresh village air
