Eyes Intertwined
By: Laura Manis
I had memorized your eyes before you had even given mine a second glance
Am I foolish enough to take this by chance
Your eyes fall seamlessly like the quick autumn breeze
Should I give you a smile?
Should I get up and leave?
I can’t help but tremble when your hand moves closer to mine
What could happen if our eyes were to intertwine?
Am I foolish enough to take this by chance
Your eyes fall seamlessly like the quick autumn breeze
Should I give you a smile?
Should I get up and leave?
I can’t help but tremble when your hand moves closer to mine
What could happen if our eyes were to intertwine?
Writer's Statement: Poetry is an amazing outlet. It is a wonderful thing to be able to translate what’s inside your head into metaphors and rhymes! My Friend The Balloon deals with the internal struggles of mental health. I hope readers feel they are not alone! Many of us out there too, have a red balloon. I also hope readers feel the first love innocence of Eyes Intertwined and the angst of Perfect.
