I'm Sorry

By: Daisy Tapia

Picture
You’re the one who walked away,
Now I don’t know what to do,
I’m the one who decided to stay,
And I just can’t be mad at you.

I trusted you so easily,
I loved you with all my heart,
But you're the one who broke me,
Now I’m falling apart.

I’m sorry I wasn’t enough,
I’m sorry I made you leave,
I’m sorry I made life tough,
I’m sorry I made you hate me.
Please come back to me,
Without you I'm dying.

I know I should hate you,
I know I should forget,
I really want to,
I can’t just yet.

Tears run down my face,
Thinking about our memories,
Now I’m standing in place
Looking back at what you did to me.

I want to hate you,
I want to scream,
I want someone new,
I want my dream
But I’m still stuck on you,
Someone help me
Let me hate you,
Let me please.

I’m not sorry I’m getting better,
I’m not sorry that I’m moving on,

I’m not sorry I’m stronger,
I’m not sorry the old me is gone.

I’m not holding on to hope,
I’m not begging on the floor,
I’m not going to mope,
I’m not sorry anymore.

Writer's Statement: I have already dealt with depression and having bad days which is where writing came into my life. To me writing is an outlet and an escape from my chaotic mind.
