What do you do with a two faced feeling
When you hate being stared at
But you love getting a gaze that isn’t hateful
Because you do that enough to yourself
When it’s 2am and you’re staring in the bathroom mirror
And taking note of all the imprecations that reside on your skin
And you think to yourself it only gets uglier the more you look in
You don’t know what to do
You have a drive to feel loved
And a hunger to be used
Two faced feelings what to do
Build yourself a castle or cry yourself to sleep
Two faced feelings
They can be sour but also sugary sweet
It’s the duality of it all
Keeping you feeling completely incomplete
When you hate being stared at
But you love getting a gaze that isn’t hateful
Because you do that enough to yourself
When it’s 2am and you’re staring in the bathroom mirror
And taking note of all the imprecations that reside on your skin
And you think to yourself it only gets uglier the more you look in
You don’t know what to do
You have a drive to feel loved
And a hunger to be used
Two faced feelings what to do
Build yourself a castle or cry yourself to sleep
Two faced feelings
They can be sour but also sugary sweet
It’s the duality of it all
Keeping you feeling completely incomplete
Writer's Statement: I wrote this on a random winter night when I was thinking about the complexities that come with being human and not always knowing what or how to feel.
